Ecoist

Ecoist is a company that works with different organisations to stop materials going to the landfill. One of their collections features them working with MARS, and repurpose all the labels and wrappers that are misprinted and would otherwise be sent to the landfill, and create recycled purses ad environmentally friendly bags, jewellery, and furniture etc. They do the same thing with The Coca-Cola Company, with their misprinted bottle labels. These pieces however are made be a fair trade women's cooperative in Peru. Other things Ecoist work from are barcodes, magazines, newspapers, and even pull tabs off of cans, and for each bag sold, they plant a tree. The Miami-based company is very successful, and it's recycled bags have even been featured in films such Sex And The City 2.
I like this idea for a company as it will appeal to people other than just people who want to help the environment, such as fashion conscious people as these are still a desired accessory and sell for a lot of money.
